GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Aydın Adnan Menderes University is a highly regarded state university, situated in Aydın city centre in the Aegean Region of Turkey. It has 22 faculties, 19 vocational schools, 3 graduate schools and 5 separate schools which, with over 1,000 academic staff, serve over 40,000 students. 
Founded in 1992, ADÜ is a dynamic and expanding university with close links to the local economy and industry. The University pays great attention to international relations, international collaborations/memberships and student/academic staff exchanges. 
Faculty of Agriculture as a mission has assumed the responsibility for the development of learning and specialisation in the sustainable management of biological resources and biological production. This responsibility covers a wide range of topics related to agriculture such as biotechnology, food industry and environmental issues.. The current undergraduate programme consists of Horticulture, Plant Protection, Landscape Architecture, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Machinery, Field Crops, Soil and Plant Nutrition. 
There is currently 16094 m2 of indoor area in use. 10 blocks of our new residential buildings with 17 blocks covering 52.000 m2 closed area have been completed. ADU Faculty of Agriculture has 46 laboratories, 33 classrooms, a library where 500 people can work at the same time and 4250 scientific and cultural publications.
It will participate in AGROFIG with different teams including experts in Agricultural Economy, Agronomy, Soil Science. In particular, ADU will be the leader of WP2, related to fig tree-based agroforestry demonstration sites.  Prof. Dr. Göksel Armağan will lead  experts in Agricultural Economics in WP1 activities.  
ADU will participate to WP4 related to communication and dissemination activities.
